Abstract

Infrastructures are persistent socio-technical systems used to deliver different kinds of services. Researchers have looked into how awareness of infrastructures in the areas of sustainability [6, 10] and software appropriation [11] can be provided. However, designing infrastructure-aware systems has specific requirements, which are often ignored. In this pa- per we explore the challenges when developing infrastruc- ture awareness systems based on contextual analysis, and propose guidelines for enhancing the design process.
