Abstract

The aberrations caused by decentration have been derived and expressed in paraxial quantities. A very rapid method of calculation has been developed. From an example it is shown that second order terms (the first occurring in the expansion) suffice to obtain the order of magnitude of the aberrations. © 1950 Martinus Nijhoff.
