Dissecting the generation gap: Intergenerational and intrafamilial similarities and differences

Abstract

A comparison of scores on five scales of social and political values taken by Columbia College students and their parents indicates that (1) there are highly significant differences between parents and sons, with the latter being much more radical in ideology, and (2) patterns of correlation between parents and children are low. © 1972 by Columbia University Press.
