Abstract
Research on programming behaviour requires the analysis of a huge amount of observational data. It would be helpful to have tool support in collecting and summarizing these data containing basic programming events. This paper introduces ElectroCodeoGram (ECG), a modular framework consisting of event collectors (called sensors), pattern recognizers (called modules), and other infrastructure to offer help in this respect.
