Abstract
The development of integrated management of engineering drawings, integrated manufacture, cooperative design and the demand of remote drawing transmission requires a kind of integrated Drawing Archiving and Communication System (DACS). In this paper, we propose the concept of DACS and analyze some key issues in the design of DACS, such as the design of application architecture of database, the uniform encapsulation of raster drawings and vector drawings, the math of the drawings and documents, and the input effect of drawings. We also give a practical example of the system structure of DACS.
