Erratum

Abstract

The Journal has been notified by J. Coresh et al. of two errors in their paper, "Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Skin Color among American Blacks" (Am J Epidemiol 1991;134:129-36). In the third sentence of the abstract, "..., but less so with skin color (p = 0.009)," the p value should be 0.09. An extra zero was added because of a printer's error. The second error is in the next-to-last paragraph on page 134. In the sentence, "Using this approximation, the power to detect odds ratios of 2.0 and 1.5 would be 95 percent and 84 percent, respectively," the odds ratio 1.5 should be 1.75.
