Expanding the concept of learner control in higher education: Consequences for intervention design

Abstract

The paper examines, reinterprets, and expands the concept of learner control in higher education, thus making it suitable for connection with the emerging concept of personal learning environments. Some consequences for the design and implementation of interventions that treat the establishment of learner control as an educational goal are considered. © 2011 IEEE.
