Abstract
The diffraction amplitude and the related intensity in the Fraunhofer far-field regime, due to conical track irradiated by an optical plane wave, is determined. The results show sensitivity to both the radius of aperture and to the depth of the cone. Several special cases are discussed and illustrated by plots in the important cases. The choice of these plots, and their scaling, is based on providing useful information to those people dealing with typical problems in image processing.
