Abstract
The use of controlled radical polymerization, specifically, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) has provided a means for the synthesis of a variety of well-defined polymers. Among these, includes a variety of functionalized monomers and polymers with well-defined end groups. Functional end groups can be introduced by use of a functionalized initiator, or through the transformation of the halogen end group by simple organic chemistry techniques.
