Abstract
There has been a long felt need for an intermediate technology, between Bulk Blends and NPK Granulation plants. Either the entrepreneur has to be satisfied with a bulk blending plant or has to go in for a multi million dollar ammonium phosphate or phosphate NPK Granulation plant. Fertiplant has very wide experience in the steam granulation process and has set up more than 56 plants for NPK and single nutrient granulation, all over India. With the tremendous experience and feed back experience available with Fertiplant, the technology has been made simple, yet more versatile; to the extent that it does not even require steam nor urea melt. Solid raw materials are thoroughly mixed and granulated in the presence of water only. Fertiplant has christened this technology 'Fusion Blend'. The agronomic advantages of a granular product over bulk blend are well known. This paper makes a strong case from the economic and technology view points to install NPK Granulation plants by the Fusion Blend technology and not just stop at bulk blending. © 1991 Kluwer Academic Publishers.
