Abstract

Managers of British sterile services departments have much in common with manufacturers of sterile health-care products in the private sector: both have the problems that attend the employment of staff; both are constrained by the disciplines of resource limitation; both supply sterile products and both are, accordingly, subject to the ethic enshrined in the 'Blue Guide'.
