Abstract

The techno-economic factors for heap leaching to recover precious metals, including Ag and Au, under cold climate/high elevation conditions are described. The test work on the feasibility and commercial viability of heap leaching are outlined. A typical heap leach operation is described which includes ore crushing, screening, treatment on leach pad for solution distribution and metal recovery. The ecological need for suitable treatment of cyanide washings is emphasized. Graphs.--B.C.
