Abstract

High no.-av. mol. wt. olefin homo and copolymers are made in soln. at ≥80° in the presence of a catalyst contg. a Group 4 transition metal compd., phosphinimine ligand, and ≥1 uni-neg., activation reactive ligand. Ethylene was polymd. at 160° in the presence of Me aluminoxane cocatalyst and cyclopentadienyl titanium [(tri(tert-butyl)phosphinimine)](2,6-diisopropylphenoxy)chloride (12 × 10-6 mol/L) to give polyethylene (mol. wt. 86,000) at polymn. rate (calcd.) 350 L/mmol × min.
