Abstract
The current Web is in transition phase to adopt the upcoming HTML5 stan- dard. This standard is supposed to replace many current web technologies and methods by offering functionality which is currently implemented by many ad- hoc solutions. Although the new standard is needed the new features usually are going to add also new problems. In this paper a look is given to several features of the HTML5 standard in the light of how this feature is going to affect the pri- vacy of its users. As a result one can see the need for additional standards for achieving better web privacy.
