Abstract

It is highly desirable to the distribute data and knowledge of a huge amount of domain specific database and to make them available readily to people, but the distributed and heterogeneous natural of the databases gives rise to the challenge of achieving the best retrieval results in cross-system searching. In order to make this difficult task tractable, we analyze semantic heterogeneities among these databases which choose digital museum as target domain and describe an instance based approach to accomplishing semantic interoperability by using ontology and information flow theory. © 2007 IEEE.
