Abstract

The article discusses Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and how it can be appreciated as a worldview based on reality than on mysticism. Based on a survey, the major reasons for the poor understanding of this theory include its counterintuitiveness and its opposition to most people's views. The article states the school has a role to play in making the theory of evolution intellectually inspiring. Even without involving divine action, the theory of evolution is said to be a good foundation for creating one's own ethical and political outlook in life.
