Abstract
Virtually every product, service or the way they are produced and delivered can be copied, often in a different part of the world, almost over night. The window of opportunity before a competitive offering enters the market is shrinking. The solution lies in identifying the intangible competitive adventages - those not easily visible to the competitors and therefore almost impossible to copy. These are types and levels of knowledge shared by organizational teams. The benefits are a sustainable competitive advantage, lower operating costs and higher revenue. © 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
