Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach for fault prognostic using the Bond Graph (BG). The bond graph is used as a tool to build a dynamic model of a system, which is well suited for modeling physical systems where several types of energies are involved. In addition, it supposes the possibility to generate residuals for fault diagnostic and prognostic. Furthermore, a simulation experiment of pneumatic equalizer control unit of locomotive electronically controlled pneumatic brake is conducted and the remaining useful life of the relay valve is predicted. The experimental results show that the proposed method is valuable.
