Abstract

The contemporary nursing administrator faces an era of financial and personnel resource constraints that will force critical reviews of the management of human resources and productivity in nursing service. In this article, Hanson challenges traditional views of productivity and offers exciting alternative concepts and models for evaluating resources and their relationships to productivity. Workable formulas and practial examples help translate the concepts into results that can be applied in real-world decision making. © 1982 Concept Development, Inc.
