Abstract

The paper presents a review and commentary on various mathematical models which have been proposed and used for analytical prediction of reliability. Attention is given to the physical interpretation of some of the mathematical postulates on which particular models are built. A rough classification of models for long-term life quality analyses as distinct from short-term success at any instant predictions are made.
