Abstract
In this chapter, the authors identify and discuss research and practice issues pertaining to multicultural assessment with the MMPI-2. To place these matters in perspective, the authors begin by noting that the test's adequacy for multicultural assessment is but one of a number of significant challenges faced by MMPI users almost since the test's initial publication. The authors believe that it is important to place the challenge of multicultural assessment with the MMPI-2 within this broad framework because resolution of these challenges is based on similar principles. The authors then review the empirical literature on multicultural assessment with the MMPI/MMPI-2 and conclude with a discussion of future directions for research and practice in this area.
