A New Mobile Grid Computing Architecture

Abstract

These recent years, the mobile devices (such as Laptop PCs, PDAs and cellular phones) have become ubiquitous and their number is always increasing. In fact, the new technologies allowed improvements to these devices as the battery efficiency, wireless communications, storage capacity, etc. Despite these technology advances, the mobile devices capacity remains limited and modest with regards to their fixed counterparts. This limitation appears when the users of these mobile devices want to execute complex applications or those that need important computational resources. These applications cannot be directly executed by mobile devices. In this paper, we study the possibility to integrate mobile units in an intensive computing, making thus a mobile grid computing.
