Abstract

In this paper, we proposed a node placement strategy in linear networks and mobility control strategy for equally-spaced placements. Our purpose is to maximize the sensing area by solving the problem of unbalanced traffic load in the sensor network. Through simulations, we verify that these strategies have significant benefits on the total sensing area of a given system. Finally, we extend our node placement strategy to a 2-dimensional network and identify its advantages. © 2011 IFAC.
