Abstract

The article looks at how open curriculum is impacting schools, educators, and teacher-librarians. The author defines open curriculum as a curriculum based on open resources that allow students to be more independent and responsible for their own learning. It is suggested that teachers will have to adapt to these new technologies to remain effective educators. The article offers sites that teachers can look into regarding this issue, including video lesson page www.khanacademy.org, video resource www.watchknow.org, and video clip site http://viewpure.com. Photographs of various open curriculum resources are presented.
