The philosophy of engineering

Abstract

Although the philosophy of science was already well developed in antiquity, the philosophy of engineering is not accurately defined even today! Despite the influence of engineering upon philosophy in recent centuries, no one philosopher has made an attempt to define the philosophy of engineering. Thus it may not be a coincidence that Ludwig Wittgenstein, the founder of the modern philosophical trend of logical positivism, was an engineer. But even he never wrote anything on engineering.
