Present and future

Abstract

This paper discusses the present and future of the ″Lyudinovskij″ plant. It is pointed out that metallurgical production meets the requirements of the plant to a full degree. In mounting-welding works, the plant mainly uses semiautomatic and automatic welding, using carbon dioxide. Welding constructions equal to 50 tonnes and more can be manufactured at the plant. Other shops of the plant are briefly described. The designers and engineers of the plant developed the first Russian Diesel train (DL-2). Works are being conducted to develop a diesel train with a capacity equal to 2944 kW (4000 h.p.).
