Abstract

The influence of fluctuations in the probe laser's output on the performance of an optically pumped Cs beam frequency standard is clarified. The analysis considers the probe laser's flicker frequency noise. Requirements for probe laser linewidth and modulation frequency are derived from the calculated results.
