Abstract
We present an extension to LPA MACProlog that provides the programmer with a simple set of primitives allowing the development of communication-based applications without knowledge of the underlying communication protocol (AppleTalk). Therefore, primitives to open and close communication, along with those to send and to receive messages are provided. The design effort has focused on granting full independence to the communication layer from the domain. The proposed paradigm may be easily ported under different interpreters providing a powerful and inexpensive tool to implement inter-process communication.
