Abstract

In the introduction to this Special Section, we proposed "the creation of a database of systematic, pragmatically focused case studies in program planning and evaluation [that] will be useful to both theorist and practitioner." Six case studies have been presented to 'pilot test' the value and feasibility of this proposal. This concluding statement offers lessons learned from these case studies that argue for the database proposal's viability and that point to its future prospects. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
