Quality of service analysis for IPTV provisioning

Abstract

IPTV is one of the killer Internet applications today. Due to the real-time nature of this service, the Quality of Service is essential for its provisioning. In this paper we have performed QoS analysis for IPTV traffic using measurements from real pre-operational IPTV commercial network. We have performed several experiments regarding the IPTV traffic, background besteffort traffic, video buffer at the receiver and scheduling algorithm towards the user access links.
