Abstract

To achieve integrated performance optimization between data transmission efficiency and energy savings in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), a self-organization protocol method based on Q-learning is proposed, in which every WSNs sensor node is mapped to an Agent, each Agent selects a better forwarding path by learning and training, so as to achieve self-organization of WSNs. Case study has shown that, the self-organizing WSNs built with Q-learning can improve energy efficiency of data transmission and prolong the network lifetime.
