Abstract

This study investigated the history of free and open source software (FOSS), comparative analyzed notions of free software and open source software, further studied on support forces and development status of free and open source software. Based on comprehensive review, we aim to suggest that free and open source software has a very bright development prospects. ©2008 IEEE.
