Revisiting Project Complexity: a new dimension and framework

Abstract

Project complexity is defined by dimensions such as structural complexity, uncertainty, pace, dynamic complexity, novelty, social-political and institutional complexities. In this article, these dimensions were discussed and organized to form a comprehensive framework. The major contributions of this article were the introduction of institutional complexity and the development of a project complexity framework to allow researchers and practitioners to better understand projects and make more informed decisions.
