Abstract

The advancement in nanotechnology dealing with material sciences starts with the simple concept of self-assembly. Tunability, functionalization, and characteristic behavioral change by alteration of the environment surrounding the self-assembled structures provide varying conditions leading to different architecture of nanomaterial. With correctly correlated chemistry in combination with the methodology of synthesis, a wide range of components can be structured as desired. However, the construction from nanoscale requires a deeper understanding of essential requirements and fabrication techniques. The emergence of inevitable development has been traced since the evolution of basics related to linking self-assembly and nanotechnology. In this chapter, there is elaboration on concepts of nano self-assembly and the science behind their formation. The sections also convey diverse examples, architecture, and applications. Features covering multimodal nano self-assembled systems for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes have been customized and represented in few subsections.
