Abstract

Employing the scattering theory of rough surface and reciprocity, numerical results of the emissivity versus backscattering coefficients for various soil wetness and surface roughness are obtained. The calculated results were used to construct a mesh graph. Any point on the graph denotes a pair of complementary active/passive data. Its location on the graph may be used to estimate the wetness and roughness of bare soil, separately. © 1995.
