Coding techniques suitable for multiple-source-point recording with vibrator sources are presented. Two sets of codes which allow spectral control of the signal and are implementable with current vibrator hardware are discussed in detail. Appropriate design of each vibrator signal allows for the separation of the individual traces with little loss in data quality, and a small increase in data processing. The data acquisition time is reduced by a factor of N, where N is the number of source-points used simultaneously. Computer simulations using synthetic data as well as field tests have proven the validity of the concept.
