Abstract

Software evaluation by user satisfaction analysis based on quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 9126 aligned with functional testing is introduced with its procedure and details. Then an example of user satisfaction analysis has been described. The procedure starts by creating user survey form, then it is distributed and collected with the users response to the survey questionnaire. The statistical analysis shows the user satisfaction rates in a various perspective and reveals the implications to the software testing by comparing it with the test results. The benefits of this approach are validating testing results, providing testers and developers with user characteristics, prioritizing what is tested, and finding user-specific errors not noticed in testing.
