Abstract

The Office of Information Technology at Feng Chia University began its software improvement activity in 2004, driven by the objectives of providing better software quality service to the university faculties and students and promoting the software engineering capability of the students of the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science. We chose Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) as a model to guide the improvement process. Over the two-year period of continuous improvement effort, we made our process more predictable and more productive and were capable of producing high-quality products. This paper reports on our experiences on the software process improvement task where lessons learned are discussed.
