Abstract
This article presents a sound analysis, using a large microphone array, on a command bridge of a Swedish mine sweeper. The alertness of the crew on the bridge can be increased by reducing the overall sound levels and keeping the spectral distribution controlled. To determine which means of sound reduction should be applied, it is important to have a good understanding of the origin of the sound field, and especially which parts in the enclosure have the highest sound levels. The method used, which consists of 730 microphone positions using 32 microphones at a time, is evaluated.
