Abstract
The objective of this research is to determine variables that influence people to choose transport mode for trip to traditional market, whereas travelers purpose to fulfill their daily household logistic such as primary food, vegetables and fruit, daily goods, etc. A binomial logit model has been developed as a tool to analyze their behavior. Data including people attitude, transport mode attribute, and trip characteristic of a trip to traditional market for daily shopping in Makassar City, Indonesia were collected to develop a utility function. In this case there are two choosing of transport modes, mini bus or para-transit as public transport and private car. A survey based on home interview to respondents was done at a residence area that located not so far from the market. Estimation and validation of parameters values of the model have given good reappearance. The results show that trip frequency in a week and travel time become significant variables in whole utility function of the both mode. In further, increasing of delta travel time of para-transit to private car lead to increasing probability of para-transit to be chosen as well as increasing of trip frequency.
