Abstract

The major difference of the on-board machinery from the on-land one is that the base cannot be assumed as a rigid body but an elastic one with certain damping and stiffness. Accordingly, the theoretical model is established, and then the numerical simulation and experimental study are carried out in this paper to evaluate the performance of nonlinear vibration-isolation system (VIS) under chaotic state. The results are presented to confirm that the nonlinear VIS not only possesses excellent performance of vibration-isolation but also can reduce the line spectrum greatly when the system operates under chaotic state.
