Supporting Resource Based Learning

Abstract

Defines resource based learning (RBL) as having "open access, self-directed learning from a large information source." (p237). Goes on to look at the implications of RBL for what children need to learn and how that impacts on the role of the teacher. The importance of asking questions and other information handling skills is emphasised. Issues of control, group work, collaboration and the curriculum are mentioned.
