Abstract

A novel compact SSRR with capacitor loading for metamaterial is presented in this paper. And its resonance characteristics are investigated through a series of full wave simulations. The simulation results show that the resonant frequency becomes lower with capacitor loading at the open ends of SSRR. With two incident polarization, or parallel polarization and perpendicular polarization, the resonance strength is analyzed for one unit cell and three-unit-cells array based on two different coupling modes involved, respectively. © 2010 IEEE.
