Abstract

Separation of fat and water signals is usually based on the chemical shift difference. These phase sensitive techniques require the calculation of B0 fieldmaps and involve phase unwrapping procedures. Here we present an alternative amplitude based method, which does not require computation of a fieldmap. It is based on the biexponential T2* decay unique to fat protons.
