Teaching interactively with interactive whiteboard: Teachers are the key

Abstract

The new interactive technology of interactive whiteboard into the classroom, bring a lot of opportunities for teaching. Compared with other information technology tools, the uniqueness and the 'boon' of IWB technology lies in the possibility for an intersection between technical and pedagogic interactivity; in other words, in the opportunities this technology holds for collective meaning making through both dialogic interaction with one another, and physical interaction with the board. So, what the intersection between technical and pedagogic interactivity looks like in classroom? We believe that teachers are the key to achieve teach interactively with interactive whiteboard. Because they must understand the nature of interactive teaching; and decide which kind of pedagogical strategies and teaching methods and design teaching activities. ©2010 IEEE.
