Abstract

In the Brite-Euram 3 project BE96-3061, named Application of Neural Network based Models for Optimisation of the Rolling Process (NEUROLL)”, neural networks are applied to dimensional, material and surface quality analysis and control applications in steel rolling. Apart from improvements of the models, objectives are to develop new methods and tools as well as to study feasibility and ways of using NN's. The project has had a great share in the development of the methods presented in this paper.
