Abstract

Antistatic coating formulations based on vanadium pentoxide colloids have been prepared. Topical coatings of vanadium pentoxide are formed on ABS (a terpolymer of acrylonitrile butadiene and styrene) and characterized. The coated test specimens show surface resistivity in the 108 to 109 ohms/square range. Effective electrostatic discharge protection can be achieved by these coatings.
