Voice enabled window manager

Abstract

How would a visually impaired person know what is being shown on the computer screen?, would the visually impaired person be able to imagine or understand the contents of the screen, even if someone tells this person what the screen shows?, would the visually impaired person know what colors or graphics are being displayed?, would the visually impaired person be able to use the mouse: would this person know where the cursor for the mouse is moving?, would the absence of monitor cause any difference?, how would the visually impaired person read online news, papers, and emails? We developed, designed and implemented an effective system to provide a solution to the above questions by enabling a window manager with voice output. Match Box: A suite of tools for the user management of X11 Applications. Festival: A general framework for building speech synthesis systems. Window Manager: A program that manages a graphical user interface, determining the appearance of windows and determining the response to operations such as clicking on the desktop.
