Wireless communications for 2G, 3G and beyond

Abstract

In this paper we shall present a critical survey of 2G, 3G and 4G wireless communication systems and identify the areas in which research activities are taking place in different domains of broadband wireless mobiles such as, RF circuits and devices in wireless Internet, mobility management, multimedia applications and wideband CDMA. The concept of 4G mobile that has been gaining ground and creating enormous interest for the last couple of years will be discussed with respect to high frequency utilization and the demand by the users for simultaneous and multidimensional high-data-rates, and the applications for wireless mobile Internet. We will propose a Wireless Intelligent Network (WIN) equipped with knowledge-based component and dispersed intelligence.
