Abstract

Sintesi Interessante articolo che fa sintesi della black theology di James H. Cone, Cornel West e Victor Anderson, e della womanist theology di Delores S. Williams sul tema del peccato originale. Dopo un'attenta disamina delle loro posizioni, conclude tra l'altro affermando che che "What can be realized is that black and womanist theologians tend to reject an Augustinian sense of original sin as metaphysically inherited by the descendents of those who committed the original sin. Instead, if there is a sense of inheritance, it is the generations-spanning and values-laden social consequences of white society depreciating and disintegrating black people on individual and societal levels" (pag. 45). L'autore sembra peraltro condividere questa prospettiva e in particolare che il ruolo delle chiese sia quello di creare contesti di parità e di relazione.
